Referendum: Part-Time Health Plan
On February 15th and 16th voting will occur for all students at http://VoteUSC.ca about issues with student government.
This year all part-time students are being asked if they would like to pay an additional $99.89 with their student fees to buy into coverage from the campus health plan.
Voting in favour of does not require those with existing health coverage to pay more to be covered under two health plans. If the vote is successful, all part time students would gain the ability to “opt out” of the health plan and receive their $99.89 back in the form of a cheque.
To gain an understanding of what is covered under the health plan, please review the benefit book at http://www.studentbenefits.ca/sbta/?q=node/49.
Whether you are in favour of providing access to health coverage for all part-time students, or not, it is still important to vote next Tuesday and Wednesday. A certain number of part-time students are required to vote for the referendum to be considered legitimate.
Please tell your friends who are part-time students about this opportunity.
This is your chance to have your say.
